first_imgJust a couple months ago, newly-reunited group LCD Soundsystem hopped on the destination festival train with their very own event called Beach Vibes. The getaway festival was scheduled for January 27-29 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and was to feature sets from Hot Chip, Run the Jewels, Holy Ghost!, Poolside, Juan MacLean and more.Today, however, we’ve learned that the event has been completely canceled, with organizers saying that it “was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned.” They’ve even gone as far as to remove all traces of their social media accounts. You can read the festival’s full statement from their website, posted below.Beach Vibes, a destination event produced by CID Presents, has been canceled. The event was originally slated for January 27 – 29, 2017 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, canceling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days. We’re sorry to hear that this didn’t work out for LCD Soundsystem, CID Presents, and the fans who were eager to make this journey. We did recently get a report that LCD was cancelling tour dates to work on a new album, so it is possible that is a factor in this decision – but that is purely speculation. We’ll be sure to update when more information is available.[H/T Relix]last_img
