first_imgMy Morning Jacket is currently taking a break in 2018, but frontman Jim James is clearly staying busy with his own agenda. Last month, Jim James released his third solo album, Uniform Distortion, via ATO Records. The all-original record–which got its name “because [Jim James] feels like there is this blanket distortion on society/media and the way we gather our ‘news’ and important information”–was celebrated last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jim James and his band performed “Throwback” for the live television performance, and then a rendition of “No Secretes” for an online exclusive. Only a handful of audiences have seen these new songs performed live since the new album’s release, so fans can check out James’ new rock vibe in the videos below:“Throwback”“No Secrets”Next up, James will be embarking on a unique, career-spanning solo acoustic concert tour, beginning November 2 at Los Angeles, CA’s Cathedral Sanctuary. The tour will visit historic theaters and performing arts centers across the United States, culminating with a November 21st homecoming show at Louisville, KY’s much-loved Louisville Palace. The dates will see the acclaimed My Morning Jacket frontman—accompanied by longtime touring drummer David Givan—perform a career-encompassing repertoire. Special guest Alynda Segarra from Hurray for the Riff Raff will serve as support on all dates.Jim James 2018 Upcoming Tour DatesNOVEMBER2 – Los Angeles, CA – Cathedral Sanctuary3 – Oakland, CA – Fox Theatre5 – Salt Lake City, UT – The Commonwealth Room6 – Denver, CO – Paramount Theatre8 – Milwaukee, WI – The Pabst Theater9 – Chicago, IL – The Vic10 – Cleveland, OH – The Agora Theatre13 – New York, NY – Town Hall14 – Port Chester, NY – Capitol Theatre16 – Boston, MA – Shubert Theatre17 – Washington, DC – Lincoln Theatre19 – Atlanta, GA – The Tabernacle20 – Nashville, TN – Schermerhorn Symphony Center21 – Louisville, KY – The Louisville PalaceView All Tour Dateslast_img
