first_imgRutland, VT: Seven Rutland-area organizations have been selected to receive financial grants to help improve the health of their employees through their worksite wellness programs.Community Care Network, Green Mountain College, The Humane Society, OMYA Industries, Rutland High School, Rutland Regional Medical Center, and the Vermont Achievement Center all will receive grants from the Rutland County Community Advisory Board (RCCAB) of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT). The grants, which range from $200 to $750, will be distributed at an awards ceremony on June 29th at the South Station Restaurant in Rutland.The organizations were selected based on their grant applications to improve employee health through worksite programs, as well as on their innovation, creativity, intended impact and evaluation plan. The programs will range from weight loss and nutrition counseling to conflict management. All of the organizations will report their programs’ outcomes to the RCCAB.The Rutland County Community Advisory Board, which is supported by BCBSVT, was formed to identify health needs in the area and address those needs through programs, events and activities. The Board consists of community leaders with an interest in health education and promotion.
