Krishna told the press, “We have taken it up with the U.S. authorities and the matter is at that stage.” After the Shankar incident, Krishna said, “Let me be frank. This is unacceptable to India. We are going to take it up with the government of the United States so that such unpleasant incidents do not recur.”The Department of Homeland Security called the Shankar patdown, “appropriate under the circumstances,” but U.S. secretary of state Hillary Clinton later apologized to India.last_img
