first_imgWhatsApp SharePrint Photo by Luke ZerafaPhoto by Luke Zerafa The Government will be donating between €20,000 and €50,000 from the Fond għal Kawżi Ġusti (good causes fund), to assist in the rebuilding of the St Publius triumphal arch that had been burnt last week. This was announced by Minister of Finance Edward Scicluna during a press conference in which he also explained that the fund works on the basis that the government takes care of 66% of the total amount project or a maximum of €50,000. The Minister also said that government is leaving this donation on the table until the Floriana Church gets an estimate of the total costs to rebuild the arch. Scicluna also said he rounded up the board that controls the fund for a proposed grant as he felt the grief that the Floriana parishioners are experiencing. The press conference was also addressed by the Florian Parish Chaplain, Dun Charles Cini and Floriana Major, Davina Sammut Hili. Archbishop Charles Scicluna has also forwarded a donation to help in the reconstruction of the arch.
